Lab190 - Installing & Deploying Novell Teaming + Conferencing
Novell Teaming + Conferencing is 'the' collaboration product from Novell. It includes both asynchronous and synchronous collaboration features such as document management, web conferencing, VoIP telephony, wikis, blogs, tasks, calendars, instant messaging and more. In this Hands-On labs you will learn how to install deploy Teaming + Conferencing in an heterogeneous environment and making use of your current infrastructure. You will install the Teaming server, configure authentication against your existing LDAP directory, configure in- and outbound e-mail and configure access to your existing document stores. If time allows we will also discuss the installation of the conferencing server.

Lab620 - Teaming + Conferencing for Powerusers - Get More Done with T+C
Your Teaming + Conferencing environment can be a great way to share information in many ways. We have seen many organisations using T+C in different and often surprisingly effective ways. We can all learn from these real-life experiences. In this Hands-On lab you will work with our speakers in a team to evaluate a number of T+C implementations and learn how to use it in an effective, efficient and simple way. This is a strictly non-technical lab, aimed at those wanting to learn more about empowering their own organisations or those of their customers. Subjects like fully optimized workspaces, templates, surveys and workflow examples will be included, all based on a separate lab 630 which is aimed at the technical development of workflows, forms and workspaces.

In this lab you will learn more about how to use one of the great strengths of your Teaming environment, the advanced workflow capabilities. We will create complex forms and workflows with the advanced workflow module. Workflows will take advantage of the advanced transitions, parallel threads and custom JSPs.

Lab570 - Get all the Tricks to Integrate your Teaming into GroupWise!
GroupWise and Teaming + Conferencing out-of-the-box already have quite a few integration points, however with GroupWise 8 a number of new possibilities will be added. This lab will show you how to get all your important Teaming Information integrated to GroupWise 8 and vice versa, how to post information from GroupWise quite comfortable into Teaming. You will start from scratch with a blank Teaming Server and GroupWise 8 and will setup all necessary components for a fully integrated solution.

Lab260 ZENworks 10 - Installation, Configuration, Discovery, and Deployment
In this first Hands-On lab we will start with a review of ZENworks Configuration Management, including architecture, terms, and other things you need to know as a foundation. We will then focus on installing the core ZENworks services. We will configure the required services so that the system will be fully functional. From there we will discover devices that will be managed by the ZENworks infrastructure. You will learn how to target these devices, and automatically deploy and install the ZENworks Adaptive Agent. The work done in this lab will build the foundation for activities that we will do in the second lab 270.

Lab270 ZENworks Core Services
In this second lab we will focus on how you can leverage core services provided by ZENworks. These include software delivery, policy management, inventory, and remote management. Each area of focus will include hands-on labs where you will perform the work yourself. We will dive deeper into the configuration and functionality of the different components of the ZENworks family including Zone settings, software delivery, inventory collection, reporting, license compliance, usage, remote control, and security management. We will spend the bulk of the time demonstrating the different components, and discuss other items such as server and agent architecture.

Lab660 Automated Windows deployment w. ZENworks + ENGL Imaging Toolkit
During this lab you will create and deploy an automated Windows build process using ZENworks 10 Configuration Management and ENGL Imaging Toolkit.  Exercises in this lab will include creation of a Windows XP SP3 universal base image including Mass Storage Drivers, drivers and hotfixes add-on images, Windows multilanguage pack (MUI) images, and customisation of the entire build process using templates and custom scripts.

Lab250 - Optimizing Servers for GroupWise
Installing GroupWise on either Netware, Linux or Windows has always been a "piece of cake" and the new install routine which is part of GroupWise 8 makes things even easier. However, you should certainly take some extra steps before and after the installation. In this lab our speakers will guide you through the many pre- and post installation tasks which will make your GroupWise system even faster and more reliable than it already is by default. Optimizing webservices, locking down Apache, optimizing the file system, freeing up server memory and much more, it will all help to make GroupWise run even better than before.

In addition to installing the Riva Integration Server, you will learn how to configure Riva to deliver enterprise, policy-based management of GroupWise folders, address books, rules, proxy access, managed signatures, dynamic distribution lists, secure distribution lists and more.

During this unique Hands-On lab you will be one of the first to install and deploy the latest SKyCOM beta version and your personal Asterisk SIP server. In this lab you will learn how to setup and install SKyCOM and the open source SIP server Asterisk in order to have a complete VoIP solution. At the end you will have a system which can make outgoing phone calls directly from within your GroupWise mailbox.

Lab060 - Advanced Troubleshooting with Novell Support
This is a follow up to the Great Contest to find the best GroupWise Troubleshooting Team in EMEA, which was held during the GroupWise EMEA Summit in both 2006 and 2007. During this Hands-On Lab our Novell World-Wide Support guru's will explain how to repair the broken GroupWise system we used for this contest, a.k.a. they will explain the worst nightmare scenario they have created in depth. You will also spend a lot of time diving into all the other things that could go wrong in your GroupWise system (luckily that doesn't happen too often ;-).

Lab220 - Freeware Tools for the GroupWise Administrator
These days there are many tools available to manage your GroupWise environment, some really cool "buyware", but also some very nice freeware tools. You can do a lot with ConsoleOne, but not everything what you want. Paul will introduce some handy freeware tools and the attendees will use them in this Hands-On lab. And Gert Lantinga will introduce Vertigo, one of the buyware tools, with some very cool features to manage a lot of GroupWise settings. Good stuff, come check it out!

Lab310 - Pimp Your WebAccess  - Customization & Personalization
GroupWise WebAccess is one of the major accesspoints for GroupWise, without installing any client you can easily read and answer mails, check appointments or use proxy to access the mailbox of other users. However, does WebAccess fit into your companies environment? As an example, do we really need to use the American way of notation for a date (mmddyy)? Does your week start on Sunday or Monday? More of real life examples are the base for this lab, which teaches you how to customize Webaccess to fit to your environment:
- Influence the appearance of GroupWise WebAccess (colors, logo, ...) - how to reshape it to fit your corporate identity
- Influence WebAccess to follow localization - for example to have a different "first day of week"
- Influence the behavior of your WebAccess - for example not allowing users to attach files to e-mails - virus protection!

Lab510 - Digesting the GroupWise 8 Windows Client
Learn how to install the Bonsai Windows client on your users workstations.....and troubleshoot problems when the installation fails. During this session, we'll look into the different ways to install the GroupWise client "out of the box". We will also open up the MSI, and look into that, and learn a bit about changes between this version and the old GW7. We also explore the advantages that SetupIP can offer.

In this lab we will perform a GroupWise backend upgrade. Plus, we will take attendee scenarios for rolling out a GroupWise upgrade (servers and clients) and perform some practical tests for these scenarios. During the lab with their help you will upgrade a GroupWise system on Netware, Linux or Windows (or even all three, if time permits). This way you will be fully prepared to upgrade to Bonsai, the next GroupWise release version 8.

Our Summits offer a lot of specialized sessions and labs. But sometimes we have just common questions about the administration - GroupWise administration is part of our daily work. Therefore we are offering a "Back to the Roots" lab where we will explain and work on administrative tasks. Here are some examples:
  • Understand Groupwise databases & directories - a perfect preparation for trouble shooting.
  • How to influence the connection and synchronization between eDirectory and GroupWise directory (i.e. move your GW domain to another eDirectory container)
  • Move your GW-System to another directory, volume, server or environment.
