Pacemaker is the the open source clustering solution that comes with SLES 11. In particular two things are interesting about Pacemaker: it’s free and it can do anything that the Novell Proprietary clustering solution Novell Cluster Services (NCS) can also do. So, there is no reason not to get rid of NCS and start using Pacemaker for all your high availability needs. In this lab, after a thorough introduction you will know exactly what Pacemaker is all about, and how a high availability clustering solution helps you in improving service availability, also in environments where virtualization is used. You’ll also learn how to set up a simple cluster in which an Apache web service is clustered. Following this example, you can cluster anything, including typical solutions from the Novell world, such as GroupWise or NSS.

Do you have a valid backup of your GroupWise system?  Learn what you absolutely should have in your backup for making a valid restore. We'll look at the features of use of different TSA (Target Service Agent) and how they interact with GroupWise options. We will look also into Restore Area Management and how to recreate a deleted user and how you can use the GroupWise utility dbcopy. When you get back home from this lab, you can make sure that you have a good backup and restore strategy and you know it will work!!

This two‑part lab will showcase Omni's two leading‑edge products: Riva Advanced Integration Server for GroupWise and Exchange and eControl Simplified Management for GroupWise, eDirectory, Active Directory and Exchange. You will learn to install Riva to provide proven, advanced, server‑side GroupWise integrations and interoperability for Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, Oracle CRM, Salesforce, SugarCRM, SageCRM, Saleslogix, NetSuite, GoldMine, SQL databases and other key line‑of‑business applications. In the second part of this lab, you will learn to harness the "Power of Simplicity" with eControl.

During the Lab everybody will install the software packages SKyCOM, FaxGwise and SKySMS. This adds IP Telephony, the capability send and receive faxes and the function to send SMS to your GroupWise System. You will also setup your 5-User Hosted PBX system that will run for 6 month for free. Additionally SKyPRO will include a 6 month trial version for SKyCOM, FaxGwise, SKySMS and a USB phone with this lab.

This solution in this combination is very new to Novell so we are happy to show it already at this Summit. You will also experience the single sign capabilities that come with NAM.

Struggling on a daily basis with storage allocation? novell Storage Manager automates storage management tasks that are normally done manually, using identities and policies stored in the directory (Novell eDirectory or Microsoft Active Directory).
