HOUSTON – April 27, 2011 – The Attachmate Group today announced the completion of the acquisition of Novell, Inc., a leader in intelligent workload management, under the terms of the definitive agreement disclosed on November 22, 2010. Novell will now operate as two separate business units under the Novell® and SUSE® brand names and join Attachmate® and NetIQ® as holdings of The Attachmate Group.

Diamonds are forever as well as a girls best friend - and this is not something we can say about most of our IT projects. Today we proudly introduce our new Open Horizons website, which is an essential element of our much larger Open Horizons V2.x project. And to be honest, the new website is indeed a "jewel in our crown", but not completely done yet - as such it is not a completely finished project, but more like a rough cut diamond.

The result is a rather unique interview with the leader of The Attachmate Group, who recently acquired Novell and under his leadership transformed that into 4 different business units.
Sometimes people ask us questions like "So why is this Open Horizons event not for free?"
Well, obviously an Open Horizons event is free for Open Horizons members, for non-members we will have to ask for a fee to cover their expenses - at least in most cases. Novell announced the availability of Novell® Kanaka for Mac. The new Mac*-based client was recently announced as one of the latest enhancements to Novell Open Enterprise Server, Novell’s trusted server platform for networking, file and print services. Novell Open Enterprise Server customers can now download the complimentary plug-in to integrate Mac workstations into their enterprise network, providing users with single log-in functionality to all Open Enterprise Server network resources.
