GWAVA, in conjunction with Novell and other software vendors, announced today a worldwide event series that addresses the high cost of deploying complex collaboration solutions like Microsoft Exchange with Sharepoint or IBM Lotus Notes. This seminar series, developed for CTOs and Information Technology managers, also applies to organizations dependent on legacy software such as Tobit David, Sun One (formerly iPlanet) and other aging collaboration solutions. It focuses on the total cost of ownership on these platforms vs. migrating to GroupWise on Linux.

"The age of abundance is over. The current economic environment is forcing organizations worldwide to reconsider their commitment to vendor lock-in. Many of these vendors have not delivered on the promise of lower costs and decreased complexity," states Richard Bliss, Vice President of Marketing of GWAVA. "This event series directly addresses the rapid shift toward fiscal responsibility as a result of the failed promises from leading collaboration vendors."

Novell and its community of 3rd party vendors have come together to offer a complete package of software that makes the migration to GroupWise on Linux smooth and cost effective. Dramatically lowering costs while maintaining a high level of functionality is key to the success of this offer. In addition, hardware costs are kept to a minimum, in many instances, not requiring new and expensive hardware, but leveraging the power of virtualization and existing infrastructure.

Attendees will receive a TCO white paper on the cost optimization of moving to GroupWise 8 vs. maintaining other messaging platforms.

Event registration is available at http://www.gwavacon.com/Migrate_to_GroupWise_8.htm
