the time you read this you might have noticed
that Novell has taken a quantum leap
– in the collaboration sphere, to be more
precise. Let's take a short look at Novell's
track record, before I explain more about this
quantum leap. What is Open Horizons? Where did GroupWiser originally
come from? How did you find these 45 people? What is it that you like so much
about Novell? That sounds like you could have
done the same thing for OS/2? Does your work for the Open Horizons
community make a good living? How important is Erno for the community? Which was your Open Horizons
highlight in the last year? This short article will reveal some of the details
about the GroupWise@Home Project,
as well as describing how it matured from
an idea into a full blown project, with developers
from all over the world coming
together.
The article has been written by one of the
developers and, as such, may be a bit
nerdish. I recently had the pleasure of interviewing
Tracy Smith, the Product Manager for
Novell Teaming. A man with quite a history
with Novell, who has great ideas and
a great passion for a product that is at the
heart of the Novell Open Collaboration Architecture.
