The current economic crisis obviously does not make things easier for many individuals and organisations – it’s like with other disasters, for example the flooding of the New Orleans area by Katrina – many people are hurt and there's a lot of damage. However these disasters will always create new  opportunities as well.
When asked to do an article on Teaming plus Conferencing, I had to have a good think about what to write, so as not to cover topics or items that have been covered in previous issues. There are many different directions that we can take when it comes to discussing Software Asset Management (SAM) β€” this article will focus on how to get started with a SAM project, the challenges of licence reconciliation, and how Novell ZENworks 10 Asset Management can be used to support and automate software licence management. Throughout the last fourteen years, I have had the opportunity to work with many customers, and have been able to draw on their feed-back and experience to put together an ever-evolving list of best practices and recommendations. The following are guidelines on how to tackle the task and reach your goal of effective softwarelicence management.
Novell Teaming 2.0, code-named Boulder, gives users an easy way bring people together and capture great ideas, flesh them out and then put them to work solving customer problems. New social productivity features and usability enhancements help people to develop and share their work, bring together the right people to take on new challenges, build an active body of useful knowledge, coordinate their activities and automate their work processes.
