Look mom, I'm blogging!

The past years I never felt the need to blog on this site. Why?, for interesting news we have Gert and Herbi, and we also have our professional spammer ... Erno :-)
So what could I add to this?

Because my colleague Jorn and I are blogging about BrainShare on our website to keep our customers informed, I thought to give it a try also on this website.

After two years… back in Salt Lake City - Utah… not really two years, because last year I was in Provo - Utah for ATT Live, but BrainShare that's not the same… .

First working day is a Sunday! After 22 hours of travel yesterday, I started today with a global training day on Collaboration for Novell people and selected partners. Before noon we went over Novell Pulse and had hands-on on Novell Data Synchronizer. We had to install the products, etc.. . You could call it a small hands-on lab! And surprise surprise, it was working! I must say that Novell is making progress with the Syncronizer. When I looked at it last year at the Open Horizon EMEA Summit in Vienna, it was realy beta. At this moment the install is realy smoothly, will take you a few minutes! Still some work to do, but there is a bright light at the end of the tunnel.

Then dived into Conferencing. As a beta tester I already play a few weeks with the product. The good thing with version 2 is that you get a nice ‘new’ webclient, with just what you need for a ‘normal’ conference (desktop sharing, presentation sharing, chat, whiteboard, etc…).

But BrainShare is not only about to get updated on new technology, but also about meeting people.

Yesterday afternoon more and more people arrived in Salt Lake City. Almost everybody who’s coming from Europe has a travel story. Some even had a lot of problems to get on a plane. The security regulations these days don’t make it easy to travel to the USA.

And what do you do at night? Some people may expect a great story now, but the main question for me is...  do I leave my mobile on or not? And it happens every time. People call you in the morning ... in Belgium, so it’s an early wake up call over here, and yes, I had the first one this 'night'. It’s not easy to decide, do I leave my mobile on or not. But as they say….. the customer first. And it's the perfect time to start a blog.

Within a few hours BrainShare will start. Erno and I will keep you updated on what’s new.

Try to get some sleep, until later!
