UK Summit

Wednesday October 8
Thursday October 9

The UK Summit will be organized in cooperation with GUG-UK and will hosted at Touchbase Manchester CC (GMEX). The 3,5 hour Hands-On labs will cover Teaming + Conferencing, BlackBerry solutions and of course GroupWise, hosted by local and international experts. The All-Inclusive event package includes 2 hotel nights, meals, shuttle service and more.

Why should you attend?   Location
This two-day Hands-On Summit is based on the successful GroupWise EMEA Summits. During the last years these Summits have evolved into complete Hands-On events. Here are some of the advantages:
  • Learn by Doing: Instead of just listening to speakers, you will get a chance to really work with the latest versions of GroupWise, BlackBerry and Teaming + Conferencing.
  • By Experts for Experts: Labs will be presented by International and Local Experts, to make sure that help in your own language is always available.
  • Fully Interactive: Each lab will run for 3,5 hours with a maximum of 20 people in one lab-room, there is plenty of time to ask questions and get the right answers.
  • Fully Equipped Lab-rooms: Each lab-room will be equipped with a laptop for each attendee. All laptops will be fully equipped and prepared to maximize your time spend on the lab content.
  • World famous speakers, connect to global and local experts in their fields. Local speakers will bridge the language barrier.
  • Keynote about the future of GroupWise and Teaming + Conferencing.
  • Free USB hard drive for each attendee, to contain all labs which will be attended. This way the labs can also be practiced back home or at the office.
So get involved and become inspired, as all attendees of the previous Summits have been!

The speakers on this event will be:

Diethmar Rimser - Austria
Diethmar Rimser (BrainAgents - a company focused on GroupWise) started with Novell in 1985. As a professional instructor he has been active since 1994 teaching Novell and Microsoft (It is always good to know both sides). But almost at the same time he has found his real profession - GroupWise. All his activities are now targeted on GroupWise.
Erno de Korte - the Netherlands
Erno has been a speaker on many conferences like BrainShare, GroupWise Summits and NUI events. He has a special interest in products integrating  GroupWise with PDA's. Erno has written many articles for several magazines. for example the GroupWise Advisor Magazine. He has also been one of two writers of the Novell Press  "GroupWise 7.0 Administrator Solution Guide" and the lead author of the "GroupWise Powerguide".
Paul Van der Cruyssen - Belgium
Ten years ago Paul Van der Cruyssen had to install his first e-mail system, and it was ... GroupWise. Love at first sight! After this installion he installed, migrated and supported small and big groupware systems. Paul works as an independent consultant. As a true believer he installed the first GroupWise on Linux in Belgium. If there's time, then Paul is also active as a beta tester (iFolder, ZENworks, GroupWise).
Rob Clarke
Rob has been involved with Interchange Group for 8 years, initially based at the software development centre in Derbyshire. He now works as part of the Mobile and Remote Working technical team to provide applications and services for the company´s business clients. Though Rob has a varied portfolio of skills, he works mostly on platform integration which is in demand at the moment.
Robin Redgrave
Robin has been working with GroupWise and its predecessors for over 17 years. He has held jobs in both IS&T and System Engineering, specializing in messaging.  In 1996 he joined Novell Consulting as a GroupWise consultant. Robin works on GroupWise projects in Africa, the Middle East and throughout Europe typically designing, implementing and health checking GroupWise systems as well as writing custom applications. He is a regular speaker at BrainShare and other conferences.
Tim Heywood
Tim has been only been working with GroupWise for the past 9 years and spends far too much of his time in the GroupWise forums. A regular speaker at BrainShare and UK technical events Tim enjoys practicing what he preaches with all of Novell's products; he's also PM for GWMigrate.
