This two-day Hands-On Summit is based on the earlier successful EMEA Summits, which are both complete Hands-On events. Attendees at similar events have used our Hands-On labs to:
  • Quickly discover how new solutions will be of benefit for your organization - no need to spend much time to set up you own test environment, you simply take our prepared labs home after the event.
  • Dive deeper into solutions your organization already uses, to make sure your investment in these technologies are used even more effectively and efficient
Based on the feedback from our attendees in earlier years, we keep improving our events. Here are some of the advantages of this event:
  • Learn by Doing: Instead of just listening to speakers, you will get a chance to really work with the latest versions of SUSE Linux Enterprise, OES, ZENworks, GroupWise, Teaming + Conferencing and partner solutions.
  • By Experts for Experts: Connect to global and local experts in their fields. All labs will be presented by well known Local and  International Experts.
  • Fully Interactive: Each lab will run for 3,5 hours with a maximum of 15 people in one lab-room, there is plenty of time to ask questions and get the right answers.
  • Fully Equipped Lab-rooms: Each lab-room will be equipped with a laptop for each attendee. All laptops will be fully equipped and prepared for the labs.
  • Free USB hard drive, so you can copy all labs you attend and you practice back home or at the office.
So get involved and become inspired, as all attendees of the previous Summits have been!

What's included in the Summit Package?

Our All Inclusive Package is also based on feedback of attendees of earlier events and offers (almost) everything you need, as it includes:

  • Lodging - 2 nights at the beautiful Summit hotel.
  • All Meals - Dinner on the evening before the Summit and on the first night, lunch (2x) and breakfast (2x).
  • Shuttle Service - From airport and railway station to the hotel and back.
  • Free USB hard drive - Can be used to store all labs.
  • Free Internet Access - In and around our lab rooms.

Aldo Zanoni - Canada
Alex Evans - USA
Aldo is a co-founder of Omni Technology Solutions Inc. (Omni). Since 1999, Omni has focused on creating and marketing software products that provide real, tangible and valuable benefits to companies that use Novell GroupWise and eDirectory solutions and mixed Novell and Microsoft environments. Omni is focused on delivering customer pain relief in the areas of Web-based, "ZERO Rights", delegated user account managed for GroupWise, eDirectory, Active Directory and Exchange (eControl) and Managed GroupWise Policies, CRM / ERP and third-party integration with GroupWise (Riva).
Alex Evans joined Novell in 1998, starting his career in the European Support Center in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.  After 6 years supporting European GroupWise customers he moved to Provo, Utah, continuing in his role as a GroupWise Support Engineer and accepting the additional role of Development Liaison, working very closely with the GroupWise development team.  Alex worked briefly as a PSE for 4 of Novell´s larger customers before becoming a GroupWise Product Manager. Alex is also a regular blogger on Novell CoolBlogs.

Chris Beckett - United Kingdom
Dean Lythgoe - USA
Chris is a Technical Consultant at NDS8, one of the UK's premier Novell partners. A 14 year veteran of Novell products, he focuses mainly on OES, GroupWise and ZENworks technologies. He has been a Novell UK community volunteer since 2005 and has presented at BrainShare US, EMEA and Open Horizons events in the UK and EMEA.
Dean has been writing/managing enterprise software for 17 years. He has been the direct manager for all of the GroupWise clients, including Windows, Linux and Mac. He also has managed the Administration Team, which produces the ConsoleOne plug-ins for GroupWise. Dean teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in Business, Computer Science and Information Technology programs at the University of Phoenix. Currently Dean is the Director of Engineering for GroupWise and thus responsible for the development of all future versions as well as maintenance of the current versions.

Diethmar Rimser - Austria Erno de Korte - the Netherlands
Diethmar Rimser (BrainAgents - a company focused on GroupWise) started with Novell in 1985. As a professional instructor he has been active since 1994 teaching Novell and Microsoft (It is always good to know both sides). But almost at the same time he has found his real profession - GroupWise. All his activities are now targeted on GroupWise.
Erno has been supporting GroupWise since it was still called WordPerfect Office, with a special interest in integration of document management, workflow, CRM and PDA's. As an MCNE and MCNI, he has delivered training and consulting throughout the world. Erno has been a speaker on BrainShare, Summits and NUI events. Erno has been one of authors of the Novell Press "GroupWise 7.0 Administrator Solution Guide" and the lead author of “The GroupWise Powerguide". Erno has also written many articles for several magazines and is one of the initiators of the Open Horizons magazine.

Justin Zandbergen - the Netherlands Paul Van der Cruyssen - Belgium
Since February 2009 Justin is working for NetCB Europe as system engineer and trainer. He has been invited as speaker for several events, like the EMEA Summit. Justin started with Linux at a very early age and has also gained experience with many Novell solutions, which resulted in CLP and CLE10 certifications. He also has a lot of knowledge with regards to Nagios, Squid and many other Open Source solutions.
Ten years ago Paul Van der Cruyssen had to install his first e-mail system, and it was ... GroupWise. Love at first sight! After this installion he installed, migrated and supported small and big groupware systems. Paul works as an independent consultant. As a true believer he installed the first GroupWise on Linux in Belgium. If there's time, then Paul is also active as a beta tester (iFolder, ZENworks, GroupWise).

Robin Redgrave - United Kingdom Tim Heywood - United Kingdom
Robin has worked with Novell collaboration solutions for over twenty years. He has held jobs in a number of technical roles. Initially starting in technical support then moving to IS & T and most recently, working as a consultant where he helped on collaboration projects throughout Europe, The Middle East and Africa. Currently he works with GroupWise and Teaming in a pre sales technical role based in the UK. He is a regular speaker at BrainShare, Open Horizons and other conferences.
Tim has been only been working with GroupWise for the past 9 years and spends far too much of his time in the GroupWise forums. A regular speaker at BrainShare and UK technical events Tim enjoys practicing what he preaches with all of Novell's products; he's also PM for GWMigrate.
